Hello, I'm Thom.

In beauty since 2007, blogging at manface.co.uk from 2012, and a marketer since 2016. The men's grooming blog came first, and it's where the instinct for audience, content and search was earned the hard way.

The work since has been with some of the best-known names in beauty and a good many smaller brands and startups, always to the same end: steady, profitable growth online. The focus is beauty, fragrance and lifestyle, with experience that also runs through fashion, finance and other tightly regulated worlds.

The unusual part is doing both sides of the job. Years spent building and leading digital teams across advertising, content, PR and search, and more than twenty years building websites. That mix is the point. The plan and the person who builds it are the same, so a brand owner gets one person who can both decide what to do and actually do it. Hands on, always.

Growing properly shouldn't have to mean growing slowly. Paid promotion brings the quick wins, while the steadier, cheaper channels get built up underneath, so the brand leans on paid less over time. Big-company discipline, whatever the size.
